I’ve never been interested in beauty routines that feel overly high-maintenance. My goal is to look put together, feel confident, and be glamorous but effortless and low-key at the same time. This routine is about creating a look that prioritizes hair and skin healthy by choosing products that work together and benefit your natural beauty while also enhancing it.
The truth is a solid beauty routine is a science and it takes a lot of time, trial and error to figure out what works best for you. Watching the journeys of others through YouTube and social media has been such an asset for me personally, so I figured, why not share the same? Maybe someone with a similar outlook will benefit from this routine that has taken years to perfect!
My overall vibe is natural but polished. I want my skin to look healthy, my hair to move and hold shape, and my makeup to enhance what’s already there instead of masking it. This routine supports a lifestyle where I’m active, busy, and living in a humid climate, but still want to feel feminine, fresh, and pulled together.
If your goals sound similar, this routine was built for you.
The Goal of My Beauty Routine
At a high level, everything I use serves one of three purposes:
- Hydration without heaviness
- Structure without stiffness
- Enhancement without overdoing it
I have fine hair that can get frizzy in humidity, skin that leans normal to dry and benefits from gentle products, and a preference for makeup that looks clean, soft, and wearable during the day. Nothing here is overly trendy. Everything earns its place.
Hair Routine: Smooth, Voluminous, and Humidity-Resistant
My hair routine is built around protecting fine hair while creating movement and volume that lasts. The key is layering lightweight hydration with strategic styling products, instead of relying on one heavy product to do everything.
Wash + Condition
It’s a 10 Miracle Moisture Shampoo
It’s a 10 Miracle Daily Conditioner
These are my foundation. They hydrate without weighing my hair down, which is crucial for fine or straight hair. The formulas help with softness, manageability, and breakage prevention, making them ideal for hair that tangles easily or feels dry but still needs body.
These products work especially well for:
- Fine to medium hair
- Straight or slightly wavy textures
- Hair that frizzes in humidity
- People who heat style regularly
Leave-In and Prep
It’s a 10 Silk Express Miracle Leave-In
I use this sparingly on damp hair before styling. It adds slip and shine, helps with detangling, and offers heat protection without flattening my roots. This pairs well with my shampoo and conditioner because it reinforces hydration instead of layering a conflicting formula on top.
Styling and Volume
Color Wow Raise the Root
Color Wow Style on Steroids
Color Wow Dream Coat (used occasionally, not every wash)
This trio is where structure comes in.
Raise the Root gives lift at the scalp without stiffness, which is ideal for fine hair that falls flat quickly. Style on Steroids adds texture and light hold, helping hair keep its shape without feeling sticky or crunchy. Dream Coat is my anti-humidity insurance policy, but I only use it every few washes since it’s a stronger smoothing treatment.
These products work well together because they’re designed to be lightweight, humidity-resistant, and heat-activated. None of them rely on heavy oils or waxes, which keeps hair touchable and clean-looking.
Tools
Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer
Thairapy 365 Flat Iron
The Dyson dries hair quickly without excessive heat, which helps maintain shine and prevent damage over time. The Thairapy flat iron smooths without frying my hair, which is important when you’re styling frequently but still want long-term hair health.
Skincare Routine: Calm, Hydrated, and Resilient Skin
My skincare philosophy is simple: gentle cleansing, consistent hydration, and barrier support. I don’t overload my skin with actives. Instead, I focus on products that keep my skin calm, plump, and comfortable under makeup.
Cleanse
Cetaphil Nourishing Oil to Foam Cleanser
This cleanser is ideal for normal to dry skin, especially if you wear makeup or sunscreen daily. It removes impurities without stripping the skin, which helps prevent tightness and irritation. Because it’s gentle, it sets the stage for the rest of my routine instead of disrupting it.
Moisturize
Cetaphil Hydrating & Firming Cream
This is a no-nonsense moisturizer that focuses on hydration and skin comfort. It works well for people who want their skin to feel moisturized but not greasy. I use it to moisterize overnight.
Treatment
Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar
This product supports skin recovery and resilience. It’s especially helpful if you want to maintain skin quality over time rather than chase quick fixes. I like that it strengthens the skin barrier, which makes everything else in my routine work better. I really use it as a primer as it has the consistency of one. This literally makes my skin glow. I’m obsessed!
Together, these products are ideal for:
- Normal to dry skin
- Sensitive or reactive skin
- People who want simple but effective skincare
- Anyone prioritizing skin health over trends
Makeup Routine: Soft Structure, Natural Definition
My makeup routine is designed to look natural in real life while still reading polished on camera. I don’t use heavy foundation. Instead, I rely on a tinted SPF base and strategic concealer placement.
This approach keeps the skin looking like skin and prevents makeup from breaking down in heat or humidity.

Step-by-Step Makeup Application and Blending
I start with my Alastin medical grade hydrating tinted SPF as my base. I apply one even layer and let it set for about a minute. This prevents concealer from sliding around. I smooth it in with my fingers.
Next is concealer, and this is where the routine really comes together. I use Tarte Shape Tape Concealer I place it at the inner corner, under the eye hollow, and slightly at the outer corner for lift. I blend with a Tarte concealer blending brush which actually came free with the purchase from Ulta.
For contour, I use the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – cafe. I place the lines on the parts of my face that I want to “snatch”. I use a damp sponge for blending.
To finish the complexion, I lightly sweep Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder over the tops of my cheeks, the center of my forehead, the bridge of my nose, and my chin. This step adds a soft, diffused glow and ties everything together without looking shiny or heavy. I finish with blush and bronzer for added definition.
For brows, I use the elf brow pencil I brush brows upward, fill in with short hair-like strokes, then brush through again to soften. The goal is structure without harshness.
For lashes, I apply Maybelline Sky High Mascara. I wiggle at the root and pull through to the tips. I do one coat on each eye, then go back for a second coat once the first has slightly set for better lift and separation.
I cover my eyelids in a bright nude shade from my elf contour palette and use the morphe eye liner nude shade called “take” to contour my eyes. I draw a wing with “teddy” by mac dark brown eyeliner.
I finish everything with Smashbox Photo Finish Endurance Setting Spray, misting in an X and T pattern. I let it air dry without touching my face so everything locks in place.
